I grew up in a gray area. A place that wasn’t cosmopolitan or exciting enough to be a big city, yet wasn’t quaint and naturally beautiful enough to be a countryside. Everyone lived on a paved street. Everyone drove a car. Everyone had cable. Everyone bought more than they needed. Everyone went to church on Sunday. Everyone. Was. Gray.
